Wimberley Glassworks is looking for a full-time Glass Blower. The right candidate will be a team player and positive communicator who is able to thrive on a team that includes glass blowers at varying levels of experience and in a company with a focus on excellent customer experience.

Job Summary:

  • Intermediate glass blowing skills and cold shop techniques

  • Work as a team player to ensure efficient production, creative thinking, and top quality customer service

  • Engage with visitors by presenting an informative and exciting glass blowing demonstration

  • Balance complex clientele that includes day-trippers, art enthusiasts, and high-end lighting customers

  • Maintain high-quality work and adherence to Wimberley Glassworks established forms and patterns

  • Create new shapes, patterns, and designs in art glass, gift items, and lighting

  • Communicate effectively with non-glass blowing staff members

  • Maintain professional appearance of self and hot shop

  • Cultivate a safe, clean, and functional working environment

  • Work as an instructor for public and private glass classes 1-3 times per month October-March

  • Assist other departments as needed, including gallery retail and shipping

  • Availability to sometimes work events and additional hours outside of the regular schedule

  • Availability to work regular production schedule of Wednesday-Sunday

 

Position Details:

The position offered is full-time position of 32-40 hours per week with competitive hourly pay. The position will be a contractor position for a 3 month probationary period. At the end of the probationary period, wages for a full-time, at-will position will be decided based on evaluated skills.
