GALLERY SALES & OPERATIONS MANAGER

The main priority of any staff in the gallery is to support and promote the image of the Wimberley Glassworks, create and encourage a welcoming and engaged atmosphere for visitors and clients, and maintain standards of presentation and display of our art with the goal of driving sales and promoting repeat business. We want someone who is dedicated, organized, enthusiastic, and people-oriented with the potential of becoming a chief officer over time.
Our team is looking for a full time Gallery Sales Operations Manager who will make retail sales, manage a sales team, develop customer relations, and plan, direct, and coordinate the operations and financial aspects of our organization. This position is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, and efficiency of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Interact with customers in person and on the phone for all related business and customer service, providing customer service and developing customer relationships.
Maintain the gallery displays and merchandise by replenishing, and light cleaning of cases and sales area.
Become familiar with glass-blowing techniques, art forms, and lighting product specifications.
Develop knowledge of POS processes and customer sales techniques to converse with customers and drive sales over time. Obtain and maintain accurate sales orders and customer files for tracking through quote, sale, manufacturing, receipt, shipping, and customer service processes.
Coordinate with staff in marketing, merchandising, production, and bookkeeping departments. Plan and support marketing activities that promote in-person, online, and phone sales. Manage and supervise part-time sales assistant regarding packaging, labeling, and shipping of completed customer orders.
Prepare and control operational budgets. Control inventory, receiving, purchasing, and shipping. Manage quality and quantity of production. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
Liaison with President and Financial Officer. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans, pricing, purchasing, and procurement. Ensure adequate and timely supply of light fixtures, office and packaging supplies, and vendor orders.
Must be able to work every week Wednesday through Sunday, with one weekend off per month. Must be available to work through holiday seasons except for days the company is closed.
This position requires frequent mobility and the candidate must be able to lift 25 lbs and perform tasks in a warehouse environment when needed. The ability to climb ladders is helpful.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
College degree in Business or 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience in organizational effectiveness, retail sales, operations management, and business management principles and practices.
Skilled in working with the public, critical thinking and problem-solving, planning and organizing, decision-making, communication, influencing and leading, delegation, teamwork, conflict management, adaptability, and stress tolerance. Ability and desire to converse and engage with the public in person, on the phone, and in writing.
Technical capabilities in Google spreadsheets, mathematical calculations, Adobe Acrobat, and data entry. Capabilities of using the Shopify POS system and back-end processes.
