The Glassworks' custom designs are featured in luxury and commercial properties across the nation.
In celebrating its 25th anniversary on June 3rd, the Glassworks hosted glassblowing demonstration of its latest River Timber Collection, plus a concert by Marcia Ball for a crowd of 800 people.
De Jong was born in Saskatchewan, Canada and studied ceramics, sculpture and glass at Alfred University. In 1991, he visited Texas on a vacation and fell in love with the Texas Hill Country. He subsequently purchased property and opened Wimberley Glassworks just south of the village of Wimberley.
He is the sole owner and employs three other full time glassblowers.
